On November 4th and 5th, people in the Tampa Bay area will have an opportunity to hear live music, eat great food, watch pro skaters, and taste an array of local craft beers at the St. Pete Brewfest. Best of all, they will be able to do all this while supporting a great cause – the critical research to discover treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI).

The event will take place in St. Petersburg, FL, at the event space of Coastal Creative, a digital media agency that supports the local and national business community with Video, Photo, Graphics, Websites, Marketing, Branding, and more. It will feature some of the area’s best brewers serving samples of their finest brews.

“Brewfest attendees can expect great music, tons of beer to sample and share with friends, and a blend of outdoor and indoor spaces,” says Zach Moore, Coastal Creative’s Director of Operations. “We will have something for everyone, good food, a skate ramp with pro skaters, huge local acts on the main concert stage, and local vendors sharing their goods and art!”

A $45 ticket provides attendees with all-you-can-drink samples of beers from an extensive lineup of participating local brewers. There will also be a range of delicious food trucks to try and live music from local bands. For additional entertainment, there will be a skateboarding mini-ramp featuring professional demos and an invitational contest. VIP tickets are available for $85 offering private bathrooms, catered snacks, and early entry, as well as $20 tickets for nondrinkers who want to attend the festivities.

A portion of all ticket sales will benefit Ales for ALS™, a national fundraising program supporting research at ALS TDI. Ales for ALS™ was founded by the family behind the Yakima Chief hop farm in Yakima, WA. Every year, Yakima Chief Hops provides a unique hop blend to brewers around the country, who use these hops to brew a special beer and donate a portion of the proceeds from sales to ALS TDI.

The ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) is the world's foremost drug discovery lab focused solely on ALS, and one of the world’s only nonprofit biotech companies. Led by drug development experts and people with ALS, their Watertown, Massachusetts-based lab is funded by a global network of supporters unified to end ALS. Their mission is to discover and develop effective treatments for ALS.

This is the first year that the St. Pete Brewfest will officially support Ales for ALS™ and ALS TDI. Zach says that the team at Coastal Creative was inspired to support ALS Research after working on a project with the Ales for ALS™ team.

“Ales for ALS™ came into our network last year when we helped them promote another event,” says Zach. “We believed in their cause and decided to join forces and combine it with our Brewfest that we had here the year prior. Who doesn't love good beer and an even better charity!”
